  • 33rd Annual Fall Festival THIS SATURDAY

The annual ZUMC Fall Festival is this  Saturday, October 22nd.   We will have BBQ pork and chicken plates for eat-in or take-out, starting at 11 o'clock.  We will have a Craft Room for homemade items for sale; our Country Store will have different canned goods.  Our silent and live auction will feature many  good items.  Tickets are now on sale.

  • Warming the Hearts of the Community

The 6th annual Warming of the Hearts of the Community event will be held on November 12th from 11:00 – 2:00.  We will be serving soup, chili, and grilled cheese sandwiches to everyone who comes.  Each person will get a new or gently used coat.  We will have blankets, new socks, toboggans, gloves, scarves and hygiene kits.
Last year we served approximately 195 people and this year, due to the economy, we are expecting more to come.

ZUMC members and visitors can help by doing any of the following:

    1. Donate coats, jackets, pull-overs , and hoodies that your kids have outgrown or that you no longer need (all sizes are needed but we especially need large adult sizes)
    2. Donate new or gently used blankets, gloves or socks
    3. Donate personal size hygiene items for the hygiene kits.
    4. Collect gently used coats from your family, friends, and neighbors.
    5. Cook a pot of chili or soup.
    6. Help the day of the event by serving food, cleaning tables, or distributing the coats, blankets, and socks.
    7. Help us spread the word to the community about this event.
    8. Make a cash donation to help with costs of items not donated (Please make the check to ZUMC and mark it for Warming the Hearts )
    9. Put the event and all who help or attend on your prayer list.

There is a signup sheet in the ZUMC Narthex for volunteering and a box in the Fellowship Hall for donations.  If you have questions, contact Cindy Privette at 919-601-1575 or jafarm@earthlink.net.
